Friday, July 1st, we are celebrating the arrival of "Songs in Ursa Major" in paperback with a book signing at Behind the Bookstore, our sister restaurant, from 2:30 to 4:30 PM. "Songs in Ursa Major" is a fictionalized account of the love affair between Joni Mitchell and James Taylor, on a fiction Vineyard. The last paragraph of the book is a beautiful piece of writing, one that will live with you as long as you live.
Saturday, July 2nd, Geraldine Brooks will be signing books, also at Behind the Bookstore from 2:30 to 4:30. As the Boston Globe has said, "a new book by Geraldine Brooks is a cause for celebration." Please come celebrate her new book, "Horse," this coming Saturday. This is a novel that is more than timely, exploring the complex relationship of slaves and owners and the echoes slavery has into our time.
