FUN Fact About the Real-life Bradykin

Bradykin, a Coton de Tulear from Massachusetts, was featured on Animal Planet's "Too Cute" for the first eight weeks of his life.

Susan Downing (pictured on left in photo below) lives in Hanover, Massachusetts, with her husband, Denis, their children, Matthew and Megan, and their two Coton de Tulears, Bradykin and Baileykin. She is passionate about inspiring children to get outside, play, and read—while celebrating the importance of family, imagination, and connection. Susan visits schools across Massachusetts to share the Bradykin message and offers a free outdoor game booklet on her website to encourage active family fun. She donates books to schools and nonprofits, promoting literacy, outdoor exploration, and joyful family traditions.

Megan Downing (pictured on right in photo below) graduated from Merrimack College and is currently employed in the Marshfield Public School System. Passionate about children, education, and creative storytelling, Megan brings these values into both her classroom and her writing. As a child, she convinced her parents to adopt Bradykin, a Coton de Tulear featured on Animal Planet’s Too Cute. Megan played a key role in developing Bradykin Unleashed: A Summer Camp Adventure, contributing ideas that celebrate outdoor play, friendship, and imagination—core themes she shares with illustrator Chris Young.
