When Linnea learns of an impending winter storm stranding a ship, she quickly devises a plan to bring the island together. Much to her surprise her compassion evokes holiday magic.

This story was inspired by a community of islanders from Menemsha, Martha's Vineyard who braved high running tides and the winter elements to bring Christmas cheer to a vessel from Europe which was stranded over the holidays in the harbor.

It's a heartwarming tale of true islander spirit and kindness.

Cathryn Newton has always found inspiration living by the sea. She enjoys finding the beauty in nature and art. Living on Martha's Vineyard for many years she was captivated by the stories she heard from lighthouse keepers, ship captains and salt of the earth islanders. Cathryn wanted to share the magic she found on the island with the world through children's books. She now resides in both Rhode Island and the Vineyard with her family.
